Our Bedrock Campus

Our campus is on forested land located in Gorham, ME, just outside of the center of town. While working as a teacher at a Waldorf School, our founder Beth was lucky enough to connect with a family  who had land that was a perfect fit for what Bedrock Play wanted to create - allowing kids uninterrupted play time in a space that was nestled away from the busy adult world.

Our enrichment programs are completely outdoors, rain or shine. We do have a yurt available to use for situations such as thunderstorms or on the coldest days of winter.  Our day begins in our “stone circle” where we gather together for songs, games, stories and snacks. The kids are then invited to venture into the  woods for hours of uninterrupted play time. They can use anything they find in the woods - branches, leaves and pine cones, etc. plus  they have access to our “junkyard,” which is full of loose parts, such as tires, ropes, sheets, tarps, lumber,  pots and pans, wooden spools, stumps and more.

Occasionally we gather at our fire circle, to feel the warmth of the fire, make campfire snacks and enjoy each other’s company. Other favorite spots are the mud kitchen, the climbing trees and the sledding hill.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Forest Campus!
